Film Series

“Self-Insert” takes a scene from the artist’s favorite childhood movie, How to Train Your Dragon, and replaces the main character, Hiccup, with a self-portrait. “Film Still” captures a scene from the same movie. Both paintings draw from Impressionist styles, utilizing expressive colors and visible and textured brushstrokes. These paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and capture the childhood whimsy that inspires the artist to this day.
